Have you ever thought about how many processes children activate while cooking? Attention, memory, coordination, concentration, creativity. Cooking stimulates our children in many ways, it keep them busy  and it improves their mood. You give them a chance to choose what to prepare and you will see something good. When my son cooks he is always very curious and concentrated. I realized that cooking can become an opportunity to stimulate the child’s development and his autonomy: learning to make food  , to recognize healthy foods, and organize  the time they have available are important moments in growing up , it takes very little to make these moments enjoyable and interesting. Children are able of doing and if they make mistakes they can try again… In the kitchen everything can be changed: you can change the ingredients  of a  recipe it doesn’t matter , kids experiment and it’s normal that repeating more times the same dish the result is  never the same. Here there are my son’s  baked DONUTS. My little chef is always ready to experiment. When cooking is done  there is  the satisfaction for the result: the surprise to realize that he can do it!

while the quote in the title is by my grandpa 🙂

So some times we give in to this temptation pleasant, indulce in this sweet habit without ever worrying about the calories. The profitterol: tasty bigné  filled with cream or whipped cream covered with a delicious chocolate sauce.

I was preparing the bread dough but something did not work, 🙂 I think I put too much water and so I decided to prepare a delicious focaccia, it is easy to learn how to make it, the preparation is fast and cheap. You will have beautiful and delicious results preparing focaccia. You can also prepare it a day in advance.
I used onions, olives and oregano but you can use finely chopped fresh or dried rosemary. If you want you can change the seasoning, you could try cherry tomatoes and basil or cheese, it’s a versatile dough.
To achieve alveolar surface , use your fingertips and press the dough outward toward the edges of your pan gently . Put a substantial amount of oil, it’s absorbed into the bottom crust, making it flavorful and crunchy. Continua a leggere “(english) Onion’s focaccia”

Italian bread (ciabatta)



Ingredients:

500 gr plain flour
370 gr. lukewarm water
12 gr. fresh baker’s yeast or 1 teaspoon dried yeast
1 teaspoon honey (or sugar)
2 teaspoons of salt
Dissolve honey and yeast in the lukewarm water. Sieve the flour in a bowl, add the water with honey and yeast and mix everything. Add the salt and mix but not too long.
