I was preparing the bread dough but something did not work, 🙂 I think I put too much water and so I decided to prepare a delicious focaccia, it is easy to learn how to make it, the preparation is fast and cheap. You will have beautiful and delicious results preparing focaccia. You can also prepare it a day in advance.
I used onions, olives and oregano but you can use finely chopped fresh or dried rosemary. If you want you can change the seasoning, you could try cherry tomatoes and basil or cheese, it’s a versatile dough.
To achieve alveolar surface , use your fingertips and press the dough outward toward the edges of your pan gently . Put a substantial amount of oil, it’s absorbed into the bottom crust, making it flavorful and crunchy.
300 g flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon of dry yeast
approximately 200 ml warm water
half a teaspoon of sugar
1 large onion
50 g of black olives into rounds
5/6 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
In a bowl, mix the flour with the salt, yeast and water.
Mix vigorously until the mixture is smooth, elastic, but soft (you needed to have a very wet dough). Cover with plastic wrap and let rise in a warm place until it double, then put it in a pan of about 26 cm in diameter. With your hands, also wet with oil, spread out the focaccia into the pan, cover the dough with a cloth and let it rise for minimum 30 minutes.
Meanwhile prepare the seasoning, slice onion, add the olives, oregano, salt and oil, place it on the focaccia and bake in preheated oven at 200 C for about 20 min.
