Ingredients: (Claudia’s recipe)
1 kg plain flour
4 teaspoons dried yeast (or 25 g baker’s yeast)
half a cup of warm water
80 g melted lard (or butter or oil)
1 teaspoon of sugar
salt
200 ml warm milk
Dissolve yeast in warm water with a teaspoon of sugar. In a bowl, mix the flour and the salt and add the water with the yeast and then milk and butter.
The characteristic of this bread is that you have to mix it a lot. Knead until the dough is soft and smooth, easy to handle.
Grease a baking sheet, form small rolls and allow rest and rise them for one hour.
Pre-heat the oven to 200 C
Then prick tops with fork, and bake rolls about 25 minutes. Don’t forget to check the oven after about 15-18 minutes to see what the rolls look like: every oven is different.
